About the Breast Lift
The breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical cosmetic procedure that reduces excess skin from around the breast to reposition the nipple and breast to a higher, more youthful position. The breast lift is a popular option among women who have undergone a significant weight loss or have had children and find that their breasts look “deflated.” The breast lift is a great option for women who don’t wish to augment the breasts with implants, rather they’d like to keep their natural volume and rejuvenate the breasts’ overall appearance.
For patients who already have breast implants and would like to lift their breasts, Dr. Luciano is one of the only doctors in his area to use a specialized technique called Internal Mastopexy. This advanced procedure allows Dr. Luciano to lift the nipple and remove excess breast tissue without any visible incisions or scarring. Instead, the internal capsule of the breast is folded or pleated from the inside, creating a natural-looking lift without the unwanted scarring associated with a traditional lollipop lift.

Breast Lift FAQ
Your breast lift will be performed by Dr. Luciano and his expert medical team in our AAAHC-accredited facility. Your breast lift will be performed under general anesthesia to ensure you remain as comfortable as possible throughout your procedure. For a traditional lollipop breast lift, Dr. Luciano will make small incisions around the areola and down the center of the breast. Through these incisions, he will remove excess skin from around the breasts and reposition the breasts to look naturally youthful.
For patients who have breast implants and wish to receive an Internal Mastopexy, Dr. Luciano will make a discrete incision around the areola through which he can lift the nipple and the internal capsule of the breast. This technique leaves patients with little-to-no scarring, making the technique a "scarless breast lift."
After your breast lift, Dr. Luciano will fit you with a surgical bra. This bra will help your breasts stay supported throughout your recovery and reduce excessive swelling. Moderate swelling, bruising, and tenderness around your breasts are normal and typically resolve on their own within one to two weeks of the procedure.
Most patients are able to return to work and most normal daily activities within 10 days of their breast lift procedure. Patients will be able to see their ultimate results once all swelling subsides and the breasts settle into their new position, about three to four months post-op.
